Freelance Consultant Climate Transition Plan

Context : our client has initiated the process of constructing its climate transition plan to demonstrate the compatibility of his strategy and business model with the Paris Agreement. This plan must include mandatory elements such as quantified, dated, and financed actions, a decarbonization trajectory aligned with the latest scientific recommendations, governance information, and alignment of the plan with his business strategy. They are seeking support to advance this ambitious project.

Mission Objectives : Under the supervision of the Senior Carbon Project Manager and in collaboration with key internal contributors (notably business and finance teams), the freelance consultant will be responsible for developing a detailed roadmap for reducing GHG emissions, focusing on their key emission areas  - logistics, platform, marketing, purchases.

1. Critical Review of Reduction Trajectory : Learn about existing elements of the climate strategy and conduct a thorough analysis of the current emission reduction trajectory.
2. Identification of Reduction Levers : Utilize its sector expertise to recommend actionable reduction levers and validate their feasibility.
3. Quantification of Reduction Levers : Perform analyses to estimate the potential reduction of actions and conduct simulations based on different deployment scenarios. Financially quantify the action plan by conducting in-depth research on existing solutions and associated costs and potential savings.
4. Integration of the Transition Plan into Business Strategy : Propose operational KPIs to enable the team to effectively manage the action plan.
5. Consolidation of the Roadmap : Draft a strategic note to serve as justification for the compliance with the CSRD and contribute to the preparation of internal presentations.
6. Governance Recommendations : Provide recommendations on the governance structure needed to implement the transition plan and address any potential gaps.

Desired Profile:

• Good knowledge of the e-commerce sector and the methodology for calculating avoided emissions.
• Proven experience in developing climate transition plans.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication (in english and french) and project management skills.

• Detailed roadmap of emission reduction actions.
• Simulation tools for actions with documented scenarios.
• Strategic note on our client's transition plan.
